Customer Review: Just Got this bad boy!
I want to first thank Amazon.Com for the price, free delivery and no tax. This exact set at __ Buy was $1100 dollars more. The entire experience went off without a hitch. Delivery was 10 days after purchase and the local delivery people installed the set but did not set up the cables, etc, so they wen’t beyond what was expected. Will definitely use Amazon again.
1. This TV has anti glare coating so there is no glare to deal with like some other Plasma models.
2. The book does say you should not be in 4.3 mode with the black bands for two long a period or you will get burn in. I let the Fill choice the best anyways so there is no bands to see.
3. If you have cable, the 1080p only works on your HD channels. All the other channels are at 480i. I may go to satellite for just that reason. Why pay for 1080 anything and not be able to use it?
4. Sound seems more than adequate with a deep base tone. Have not hooked up the surround yet.
5. The instruction manual is so so. Plan on looking at the diagrams a lot because there is a lack of explanation to go along with them.
6. I would want to use the straps for this if I had young children. Its seems top heavy and leans a little forward. The straps have to be screwed into what ever the TV sits on. I’m not willing to put holes into the back of the customized wooden cabinent I have made for this. If my stand was plastic I have no clue how you would strap this down other than to the wall with a nail and wire? For the price I think this is a steal and so is the 50″.
I would have been just as happy with that but they are out of stock so I went with the bad boy. The HD channels you think your right there where its happening. The picture is almost better than being there if thats possible.
Customer Review: Great Plasma TV, doesnt look good in stores alongside Samsung TV Be careful. This TV doesnt look that great when seen in stores alongside samsung lcd and plasma TVs. Somehow samsung picture is considerably brighter in stores. The native contrast of panasonic is higher than samsung native contrast. Samsung however uses dynamic contrast, which makes it look better in stores. However I did my research and bought this TV. Am very glad with it. Coupled with a blu-ray dvd player, the image is awesome. I use HDMI cables for my cable box, and the results are very impressive. I wish it had 1 more HDMI port, but that’s a minor nitpick. This TV is amazing. I am an early adopter. I am the stupid guy who bought 42 inch panasonic, when it was 6000 dollars. This is nice. Highly recommended. Pioneer was the other choice, but I liked this model.
