Best 40″ HDTV on the market. Would definitely recommend. I purchased this TV for my husband’s birthday, and I cannot get him away from it. He is watching things he doesn’t even like just to see the quality of the show in HD. We had originally ordered the same TV at Best Buy online and had a lot of hassles with delivery being delayed several times with no explanation (and terrible customer service), so we canceled the order and found it at Amazon. Delivery was as promised thru Amazon with no hassles. We saved several hundred dollars purchasing from Amazon as compared to Best Buy. Would never recommend purchasing an item from Best Buy Online. Amazon was fast, friendly and as promised.

Great TV - superb intro to HD. The shipping service I received in Boston was dreadful. They said they would come Fri, messed up and said they would come Sat. Was assured they would come before noon, and when I called at noon got a rude a prolonged explanation that I should never have been told that! A complaint to Amazon resulted in me being credited $40… lesson there for anyone else who has a problem. Anyway, I’m not going to judge a TV based on a couple of moronic delivery boys, so still 5-stars from me! I was considering the more expensive versions of this TV (the 65F perhaps) but really couldn’t understand or justify the extra expense. I was also interested in the 46″ version, but again, about a 35% increase in cost just didn’t seem quite worth it.

This TV is PLENTY big enough for me and looks absolutely superb. I’ve had a little 19″ HD TV until now, and couldn’t entirely understand what the HD fuss was about. This TV has shown me. I watched some golf and the superbowl over the weekend - I am NOT a sports fan, but just couldn’t stop watching the superb picture! Just incredible. The golf practically looked 3D!! If you’re looking for a decent sized HD TV for a little over a thousand bucks, look no further. No problems with the remote. One minor quibble would be that it doesn’t auto adjust in the picture size the way I would like - this is one thing my 19″ Philips TV does better. But I’m nitpicking, since I can easily manually change it.

Great TV… Works great with Antenna… good value Amazon order and deliver gets 5 stars! shipped on Monday, arrived on Wednesday Morning (a week early), delivered on Thursday by Eagle, opened box, setup, hauled away trash. Hooked up roof antenna cable and turned set on, searched for channels and here in Phoenix, found about 50 channels, 30+ digital, and all major networks plus some others HD… Awesome and has ruined us so need to order another one for the bedroom.. roof antenna is 20 year old original, so was pleasantly surprised to see it pick up digital and awesome HD without a new purchase needed. Great introduction to digital and HD… don’t need cable or Dish.. Superbowl was AWESOME to watch on this TV… my wife was even impressed… Easy to use and setup… instructions good… loaded a memory stick with family photos and plugged into USB slot, and selected wiselink, listened to MP3 music while running a slide show of grandkid photos… outstanding clarity.. now plan to load all our photos and review them this way.. Bought the cheap ($49) Magnavox upconverter from Sam’s Club with HDMI cable and tried a couple of movies… one was slightly better, and another one was awesome… near HD quality so anxious to go back through my DVDs.. my netflix movies work with no problem… the newer movies seem to look better being upconverted…. Net here is that I am very satisfied with Amazon and this TV.. PIP is not overly useful as some have mentioned.. the sound is adequate for us old folks, but suspect I will be looking at a surround sound system next… But sound is a great improvement over our previous Sharp analog TV… A great introduction to digital and Hd!!

Many movies are filmed at 24 frames per second (fps) and prime time TV programs are video taped at 24p. Great 40 inch LCD Hi-Def TV. I purchased this set over the Thanksgiving weekend when Amazon was running a special sale - temporary price drop, free “white glove shipping.” The TV is great. HD reception, even over the air from an antenna, is so much better than standard TV, that most of the time I watch broadcast television (from an antenna) rather than standard definition from cable. As of the February issue of Consumer Reports, this is rated the #2 40 inch LCD, #1 being a Samsung that is cheaper.

The KDL-40V3000 hits the sweet spot of performance vs. price. The similiar KDL-40S3000 (notice the S instead of a V) is a slightly cheaper set that is 720p instead of 1080p. The more expensive XBR models do have more features, but did not seem to be worth the money to me. Amazon service was first rate. Within 24 hours, I had an email confirmation and tracking number. The delivery guys called to make an appointment, called again on the day of delivery to say they would arrive in half an hour (so I didn’t have to stay home and wait), brought the TV into my house, unpacked it, set it up, confirmed that it worked and there was no damage, and removed the packing materials. And this was the free shipping. Paid shipping would have been faster (this took about 10 days), but I was in no rush.

Customer Review: So far, so good.

Pros: Great picture. Crystal clear. Automatically recognizes incoming signal type. Accurate colors after changing setting from “brilliant” to “normal.” HD picture quality is amazing. Cons: Not so good with a standard def signal. It’s watchable, but not impressive at all. In HD, there’s a little blur or ghosting on fast action - not a big deal. I guess 120 Hz instead of 60 is all that could be done to improve this. This was a good buy at HH Gregg for $1500. I think the sound quality is quite good compared to my old TV and I am not having any problems with the DirecTV universal remote like the previous reviewer described.

Customer Review: Great set! I picked this LCD up yesterday from a local HHGregg in Cincinnati. This is my 3rd HDTV and is a replacement for a 32″ Sony KLV-32M1 LCD. I must say that so far I am very impressed. Since I just got this set I can’t go into a lengthy review yet, but I’ll give a quick rundown of my pros/cons. PROS: * Ultra-thin bezel! Because the bezel is SO thin, I was able to get this 40″ into my armoire where I would normally only get a 37″. * Nice black levels for an LCD. * Color levels are outstanding! * Swivel stand for those that need it * THREE HDMI 1.3 inputs * 1080p * Analog picture is better than I expected CONS: * Swivel stand has a large footprint. Not a big deal unless you are squeezing it into a limited space. * Speakers aren’t as good as the Sony I replaced. * Issue with using 3rd party remote to control TV volume. On both my Tivo Series3 remote and my Universal Remote MX-350 the TV volume goes up/down 1-3 levels with just 1 click on either remote. * 1080p @ 60hz instead of 120hz. (not a huge deal for me….)
