For our judges’ verdict this television’s image quality deserves a good review since it ranked fourth place from among 46-47 inch HDTV sets which have been tested, and it got a 3.6 points difference from the outstanding score of Samsung LN46A550. The price of this TV is really a big deal though since it can already buy two Samsung television sets.

But the flaws are visible when it comes to color, it produces low quality images but it is still better than LG 47LBX Opus though. The wavy or unstable pattern as seen in Vatican Wall of the movie Mission Impossible 3 appeared too bluish. This was described by the judges as excess brightness and blurriness.

It gathers a good review when it comes to the appearance of the menu as shown on the screen with added icons. But it is still flawed. For instance when you adjust video setting the menu disappears instantly so it takes a long time to change something about the menu again.

LT-46244 can be spin which is a convenient feature since you can see the rear parts of the TV without too much effort. This is handy in the part of the user especially when you are accessing inputs of the television which are difficult to run and use. Another nice feature it has is: the USB port for picture slide presentation and a power-saving option.

Also, the LT-46244 integrated speakers are dreadful. A simple sound coming from it was unclear. For very expensive price, it should perform better than that.

But it also has a good quality: the set’s documentation. It provides a fast set-up manual where you can start learning from the simple things to complicated ones which are all explained in plain and clear English.

Some excellent features in the Mitsubishi LT-46244 is XVColor, a recent technology that allows your new TV to show a lot more color than an old analog could ever hope to present. This feature will make the most of your high definition.

The Tru1080p is another great feature that works to make sure that your signal is showing the highest and best definition that it can at all times. As you are watching TV, the signal from the broadcasting network will flow through your lines without the need of conversions that can slow and freeze your image.

The one unique product of the Mitsubishi LT-46244 are the color schemes and options. There is a wide variety and selection of ways that you can adjust the images on screen to make sure that every object is colored to your own unique perfection.

A color 4D video option reduces noise to prevent fuzzy pictures and lines. An advanced filter will leave the screen crystal clear, while the perfect color option will allow you to adjust multiple colors individually. The full colors can each be adjusted to create unique image and color blends that are perfect for each consumer.

This LT-46244 would be sold reasonably at $1600 but with its original $2500, it’s just too much for a gadget that is less than perfect.

Customer Review: So far, so good.

Pros: Great picture. Crystal clear. Automatically recognizes incoming signal type. Accurate colors after changing setting from “brilliant” to “normal.” HD picture quality is amazing. Cons: Not so good with a standard def signal. It’s watchable, but not impressive at all. In HD, there’s a little blur or ghosting on fast action - not a big deal. I guess 120 Hz instead of 60 is all that could be done to improve this. This was a good buy at HH Gregg for $1500. I think the sound quality is quite good compared to my old TV and I am not having any problems with the DirecTV universal remote like the previous reviewer described.

Customer Review: Great set! I picked this LCD up yesterday from a local HHGregg in Cincinnati. This is my 3rd HDTV and is a replacement for a 32″ Sony KLV-32M1 LCD. I must say that so far I am very impressed. Since I just got this set I can’t go into a lengthy review yet, but I’ll give a quick rundown of my pros/cons. PROS: * Ultra-thin bezel! Because the bezel is SO thin, I was able to get this 40″ into my armoire where I would normally only get a 37″. * Nice black levels for an LCD. * Color levels are outstanding! * Swivel stand for those that need it * THREE HDMI 1.3 inputs * 1080p * Analog picture is better than I expected CONS: * Swivel stand has a large footprint. Not a big deal unless you are squeezing it into a limited space. * Speakers aren’t as good as the Sony I replaced. * Issue with using 3rd party remote to control TV volume. On both my Tivo Series3 remote and my Universal Remote MX-350 the TV volume goes up/down 1-3 levels with just 1 click on either remote. * 1080p @ 60hz instead of 120hz. (not a huge deal for me….)

Customer Review: Probably the best TV out there for the price, but its got some quirks. The first thing we looked for in a TV was the picture, and mitsubishi really hit the nail on the head there, the colors are beautiful, however quite substantial motion lag is noticed. I liked the picture of the Samsung DLPs more, but they were also considerably more expensive. I have hooked my laptop up to the screen via the PC connection and the picture is AMAZING, but have not tried out the usb input yet. The number of HDMI’s is fine for me.

The interface is pretty good, it is simple to switch between inputs and the sound is OK, but as some other reviewers have said, some fiddling with it is necessary. The fan is quite obnoxious if you are close to the TV, but at a regular sitting distance for this TV(about 15-20 feet) It is not noticeable. I have never been bothered by the sound of the cooling fan other than when I go back behind the TV to connect something. It is quite loud then, and the fan is really quite forceful, it blasts hot air out of the left hand side and kept blowing things off of a shelf we had next to it.

This leads me to question how the TV would operate without the ventilated location it has in my home, and that it might easily overheat. The one thing that I really dislike about this TV is that the bulb burnt out after only 8 months of use. We sent for a new one under its one year warranty and it shipped actually quite quickly. So their customer support was impressive, but I just don’t understand why the bulb on this one doesn’t last. We had another DLP TV before this one and the bulb on on that one never burnt out. I can only hope that the new one doesn’t burn out because by that time it will be out of warranty and these bulbs run for around $250. Yikes!!!

Customer Review: Poor color tuning & a hum I bought this Mitsubishi to replace a smaller Sony HDTV and had it for three days before returning it. There were two problems: First the TV cast a very noticable blue cast on dark colors including people’s hair, walls, and virtually anything dark. There is little black or gray. There are three factory settings for color adjustment: Brilliant the default factory setting, which cast the blue cast, bright, and natural. The best picture is the brilliant, and to get rid of the the blue one has to go to a very dim “natural” picture.

If I wanted to watch a dim picture I could buy a used standard definition TV for virtually nothing. The set has great color controls, but no matter what I did, including lowering the blue drive I could not get rid of the problem. The hum many others have commented on starts out low and after an hour is very noticable. I had no such problems with the Sony, and I also have a Samsung, both of which had no problems like this. I bought a Toshiba 65″ to replace the Mitsubishi, and I could immediately tell the picture was going to be great. Buy at your own risk.
